GENE MCLAURIN was born and raised in Richmond County. After graduating from UNC Charlotte he returned to Richmond County and raised a family with his wife Donna. As a small business owner, he knows how to create jobs and balance a budget, and he understands the importance of managing taxpayer’s money in a responsible way. Gene is committed to his community and public service he served as Mayor of Rockingham for 15 years before he was elected to the position of State Senator.
